     Zanzibar Trading guarantees the authenticity of the items we sell. We also offer you 100% satisfaction. Simply put, if you are unhappy, no matter what the reason, you may return the item. If you receive an item from us and find that it was not as expected or accurately described, you may return it for a full credit*.

     We Guarantee that all of our items described as such were produced by villagers using natural materials. Most of our items are made for village use and not specifically made for export. We do offer a limited number of made for export or made for sale items. We typically HAND PICK these items to be of only the highest quality.

     We work very closely with a variety of aid, fair trade organizations, cooperatives and women's groups. We strive to purchase and sell only items that have been produced in either a village atmosphere or in cooperatives where fair wages are paid and the betterment of the people involved is the key.

*Ebay auction items are also subject to Ebay or other commission charges. Certain items, including but not limited to one-of-a-kind items are subject to a restocking fee: (tjaps, wood blocks, handmade textile such as mudcloth from Mali, etc. is subject to a 20% - 30% restocking fee).

If upon receipt of an item you are not happy, simply contact us within one week and you can return the item postage paid (please insure the package), in good condition (the same condition you received the item in), for a full credit less original shipping and packing charges* and any restocking fees (one-of-a-kind items such as tjaps, wood print blocks, hand woven textiles {ie mudcloth}, etc.

Please contact us prior to returning an item so we can issue you an RMA (Return Materials Authorization) number. Shipments without an RMA number will not be accepted.
